CIF Prelims

WHS Shines at the CIF Prelims.

REVIEW:  Woodbridge enjoyed an excellent meet at the CIF Prelims.  Our athletes competed well and we had the following advance to the CIF finals:

Jefferson Santos in the Shot Put, Michael Trieu in the Pole Vault.  Conrad Wozniak did not advance (113th overall) but ran a PR for himself in the 1600 and under 10:00 again in the 3200.

Running 49.94 (season best) the Girls 4x100 Relay advanced 7th and will have lane 2 in the Finals.  Cassie Stanislaw, Marjorie Strong, Kyle Wolff, and Nusha Agahi should be congratulated for this significant achievement.

Running 3:57.03 (season best), the Girls 4 x400 Relay qualified.  Kyle started the event, then Sarah Toberty, Marjorie Strong and Cassie Stanislaw finished it.

Cassie Stanislaw qualified in the High Jump and the 400.

Kyle Wolff qualified in the 400 with a very large PR.

Sarah Toberty won her heat in the 800 to move on to the championship meet.

Christine Babcock won the 1600 and 3200 to advance.

The CIF Finals will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Cerritos College (WHS to 405 North to 605 North to Alondra exit.  Go right and continue on Alondra until you arrive at the track parking lot (about 1/2 miles from the freeway).  The first event is at 11:00am (Shot Put) and the first running event is at 1:00pm (4x100).  Check the information by visiting the CIF web site:  www.cifss.com.  Our athletes should fare well in this meet and are expected to reach those milestone efforts.
