Boys Water Polo Fall Season

 WHS Water Polo Action

Except for the current one week break due to the raging fires in Southern California, the Woodbridge water polo program continues to provide exciting action. This fall, there are four seniors, six juniors, ten sophomores and seventeen freshmen.

The Varsity has been very competitive this fall. The team has only two returning starters and only four seniors so the team started a bit slowly due to this inexperience. Once the players began to get used to each others' moves, the team's play improved quickly.

The team placed second in the Western Open Tournament, third in the Irvine High Tournament and sixth in the very competitive San Luis Obispo Tournament. In games outside of league play, the Warriors were 11- 11, and three of the wins were against rivals Irvine, University and Beckman. The Warriors have just begun league play and are currently 1 and 2. This year, our league, the Sea View League, is the most competitive league in Orange County for water polo, with three of its teams ranked in the top four. The Frosh-Soph and Novice teams continue to improve, while also playing against very strong competition.
