Apr 28, 2008 -- Dual meets conclude vs. Huntington Beach
We enjoyed a successful end to our dual meet season with a good meet against Huntington Beach. We now prepare for League Prelims (Schedule for 2008 Sea View League Prelims) and Finals (Schedule for Finals).
REVIEW: In the meet, the Girls Varsity won 88-48 after some nervous moments, the Boys Varsity lost 45-90, the Boys Frosh/Soph won, the Girls JV lost, and the Boys JV lost.
On the Girls Varsity, we placed first in 14 of the 16 events with victories in both relays, double victories from Christine Babcock in the 1600 and 3200 and from Gabrielle Scott in the 400 and 200. Additional victories came from Erica Teen in the 100 Hurdles, Kyle Wolff in the 300 Hurdles, Gia Trevisan in the 100, Sarah Toberty in the 3200, Chelsea Hilliard in the Long Jump, Bree Todd in the Triple Jump, and Becky Crouse in the Shot Put. Nicole Belz had a 10’ PR in the Pole Vault. Derrick Fleming, Hector De Los Santos, Philip Tramposh, and Adam Garrett scored well for the boys.
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: Ilana Ostrov enjoyed her best performances ever. Derrick Fleming ran an impressive 800 for the victory.
