Woodbridge 2, La Habra 3:  Woodbridge High's softball team wasted an excellent outing from sophomore hurler Heather Gorey and faltered late in the game and dropped a 3-2 decision in eight innings to La Habra Saturday afternoon in a consolation round game at the 26th annual Woodbridge/Victory Classic tournament at Bill Barber Park.

The Warriors (3-14) completed the three-day, 24-team tournament by winning only one of five games.  Woodbridge struggled in its final two games to score runs.

In game one Saturday morning, Woodbridge was no-hit and lost, 13-0, to Santa Margarita.  In game two, the Warriors were limited to five hits and stranded nine runners.

"We're not aggressive enough," Woodbridge coach Alan Dugard said.  "We missed a relay and didn't cover a base.  We have to cut down on our mental mistakes - good teams don't make these types of mistakes."

Gorey allowed only five hits over eight innings, struck out three and walked one.  At one point in the game she retired nine consecutive batters.

Woodbridge had two runners on with one out in the bottom of the eighth but Chelsea Wozniak struck out and pinch-hitter Danielle Douglas popped out to end the game.

Kaitlyn Friday had two hits for the Warriors.
