May 13, 2007 -- Girls Poised for Possible Title

Warrior Girls Poised for Possible CIF Title.

REVIEW:  We enjoyed quite an exciting and successful CIF prelims meet at Moorpark this past Saturday!  Our girls put themselves in a great position to finish in the top 2 or 3 spots in the CIF championships next Saturday, including winning the championships.  The following athletes and relays advanced to the CIF Championships with excellent performances:  Christine Babcock in the 1600 and 3200, Kyle Wolff in the 400, Cassie Stanislaw in the HJ and the 400, Sarah Toberty (big 5+ second improvement) in the 1600, the 4x400 relay (Wolff, Toberty, Babcock, Stanislaw) and the 4x100 relay (Strong, Stanislaw, Teen, Wolff).  Possible participants at the CIF championships will be our alternates:  Becky Crouse (#1 alternate with a 119’ 8”) in the discus and Kyle Wolff (#3 alternate) in the 300 LH.  Good efforts were also turned in by our non-qualifiers:  Scott Belz in the 400, Marjorie Strong in the 200, and Erica Teen (she finally 3-stepped in the race) in the hurdles.

ATHLETES OF THE MEET:  Sarah Toberty with her 5 second PR race she can be a big factors for additional points for our team at next weekend’s championships.
