Woodbridge 13, Sage Hill 0:  Junior goalie Veronika Tsymbler posted her first career shutout Wednesday afternoon against Sage Hill, recording ten saves in the Warriors 13-0 victory. 

Woodbridge 14, Capistrano Valley 12 (2OT):  Coming back from four goals down with under eight minutes to play, the Warrior Girls Lacrosse team improved their record to 4-1 with a dramatic 14-12 victory at Capistrano Valley High School.  Box score. 

Juniors Kara Hericks and Subrina Cariaga, along with sophomore Miriam Velazquez and freshwoman Jolie Huisken, controlled the midfield draw and sophomores Brianna Silva, Stephanie Renteria, Caity Duke, and Amy Yuan played suffocating defense down the stretch to fuel the comeback. Season Statistics.

The Girls Lacrosse Team took home the Consolation Championship Trophy from the Green Division of the prestigious Rose Bowl Tournament, bouncing back from a tough 11-2 opening loss to tournament champion La Canada to defeat Culver City 11-0 and Sage Hill 9-5. 

Junior Kara Hericks scored eight goals to pace the Warriors, while senior Karen Cheng, juniors Subrina Cariaga and Aura Meza, sophomores Brianna Silva and Miriam Velazquez, and freshwoman Anna Takushi controlled play in the midfield and transition.

Woodbridge 16, University 1:  The Lady Warriors showed some impressive offensive firepower in their opening game of the season, a 16-1 victory over University. 

Junior Kara Hericks scored five times, sophomore Miriam Velazquez four, and six other Warriors tallied goals.  The stout Warrior defense, anchored by the sophomore trio of Amy Yuan, Caity Duke, and Stephanie Renteria allowed only two shots on goal all game.  All 32 members of the active roster saw at least a quarter of playing time. 

Come out to South Lake Middle School on Monday, March 1st to cheer on the Lady Warriors as they take on Tustin in a pre-season scrimmage to kick off the 2010 season!  Game time is at 3:30pm.
