Coach Bangs was hired as the first Varsity Girls Basketball coach here at Woodbridge High School, and has served in that position for 23 seasons.

Averaging over 22 wins a year, he has compiled an overall record of 514-137, including a 21-7 record and 2nd place finish in the Sea View League in 2007-08. He has helped guide the varsity to 17 league championships in his 23 years.  His teams have made 5 CIF Finals appearances and 2 straight California State Championship appearances, including a record of 65-2 in the 1994 and 1995 seasons. He has been named "Orange County Coach of the Year" four times.
