After claiming a share of the Big South Championship last month with a dramatic 36-33 victory over Liberty, the Stony Brook University football team had players earn several honors.

Senior offensive lineman Jefferson Santos (Woodbridge High, 2006) was named to the academic all-conference squad.

The 6-3, 290-pound Santos helped Stony Brook to a 5-1 conference record and 6-5 overall mark.  He played every game for a second consecutive season at right tackle.

A business major, it is the second consecutive year that he has been selected to the all-academic team.
