High School: Steve was a two-way player for Wheat Ridge High School, in Wheat Ridge, a suburb of Denver, Colorado.  At both tight end and defensive end, Steve played during Wheat Ridge High's run of state championship teams during the late 1960s.

College: Graduated from the University of Colorado (Boulder, Colorado) in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Psychology.  Coached little league football for the City of Boulder during college years.

Post College: Coached in competitive-level youth football programs with Jeffco Football in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  Assignment was defensive assistant coach with emphasis of defensive line and linebackers.  Has also coached youth baseball, track and field, and basketball programs.  Currently is an assistant coach for Woodbridge High School's Track and Field team, working primarily with boys and girls hurdlers.

Family: Currently resides in the Woodbridge area, the owner of consulting and software businesses.  Steve has two daughters who graduated from Woodbridge High School.
